Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. raw peanuts
    2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    2/3 c. white Karo syrup
    1 1/3 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Cook sugar, water and syrup in medium saucepan until a thread is spun.
    The mixture falls off the spoon as a fine thread or hair-like (285\u00b0 to 290\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Add peanuts and stir continuously until mixture turns a golden, slightly brown color.
    Remove from heat and immediately add butter, salt and soda.
    This will result in a foamy mixture.
    Stir in quickly and spread on buttered cookie sheet or board.
    Allow to cool and break into pieces.
