Green Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head shredded lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 can Lesueur green peas, drained
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
    1 (3 oz.) bottle Hormel bacon bits.
Preparation
    Prepare in 8 or 9 inch casserole dish.
    Layer lettuce, pepper, celery, and onion.
    Sprinkle on brown sugar; add peas. Spread on mayonnaise.
    Top with cheese and bacon bits.
    Cover and refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
    This recipe can be doubled.
