Patsy Davis' Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 box cherry Jell-O
    fresh strawberries (about 1 qt.)
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan.
    Slowly add water and bring to a boil until mixture becomes clear.
    Remove from heat and add cherry Jell-O, mixing well.
    Add strawberries and pour into baked pie shell. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
    Top with Cool Whip if desired.
