Ingredients

1 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cream Crisco, sugars, salt and vanilla until fluffy.
Add eggs and mix well.
Stir together dry ingredients in separate bowl, then slowly add to other ingredients.
Dough should hold together and stay firm.
Pinch off dough into walnut-size balls.
Roll in granulated sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 on greased cookie sheet 10 to 12 minutes.
