Okra Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. okra
    3 c. water
    1 c. white vinegar
    1/4 c. pickling salt
    2 tsp. dill seed
    1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
Preparation
    Thoroughly wash okra.
    Drain.
    Pack into hot clean pint jars, leaving 1/2-inch of headspace.
    In saucepan, combine water, vinegar, pickling salt, dill seed and red pepper.
    Bring to boiling.
    Pour hot liquid over okra in jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Wipe rims and adjust lids.
    Process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes. Start timing when water starts to boil. Makes 4 pints.
