Sauerbraten Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 doz. meatballs, cooked (make ahead)
    4 carrots, sliced and cooked
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    1 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
    1 bay leaf
    few grains cloves
    6 to 7 gingersnaps, crushed
Preparation
    Using powdered nonfat gravy mix, mix with water as directed. Add gingersnaps.
    Cook slowly 5 minutes. Add cooked, sliced carrots, wine vinegar, chopped onion, brown sugar and bay leaf. Simmer for 1/2 hour.
    Serve wide noodles, if desired.
