Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    2/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. dark corn syrup
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. pecan halves
    1/2 recipe plain pastry
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
    Add next 4 ingredients.
    Line pie pan with pastry and sprinkle with pecans. Bake in very hot oven (450\u00b0) 10 minutes; reduce temperature to moderate (350\u00b0) and bake 35 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
    Makes 1 (8-inch) pie.
