Irish Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean lamb stewing meat
    3 carrots, sliced
    2 onions, chopped
    1/2 c. pearl barley
    4 potatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Put meat, barley, onions and carrots in stew pot.
    Cover with water and cook for 2 1/2 hours.
    Peel and slice up potatoes, put into stew and cook for another 1/2 hour or until potatoes are tender.
