Maple Baked Beans - cooking recipe

1 lb. (2 c.) beans
2 qt. water
1 c. maple syrup (dark)
1 c. sweet and hard cider
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1/4 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground savory
1/2 c. onion
1 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. salt pork or 1/2 lb. bacon (\"maple flavor\")

Drain and reserve water. Boil salt pork and simmer.
