Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. whole kernel corn
    1 small onion, chopped
    4 potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1 chicken bouillon cube
    1 carrot, peeled and chopped
    3 c. water
    3 c. milk
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, add drained corn, onion, potatoes, milk, water and carrots.
    Heat, then add bouillon cube.
    Simmer on medium heat until potatoes are tender.
    Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    Thicken, if desired, with a roux (equal amounts of melted butter and flour).
