Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. orange slice candy
1/2 lb. pitted dates
2 c. walnuts or pecans
1 c. Angel Flake coconut
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Sift together flour and salt.
Dredge next 4 ingredients in flour mixture.
Cream together butter, sugar and eggs.
Combine buttermilk and soda.
Add buttermilk and soda to butter, egg and sugar mixture, alternating with flour.
Add candy mixture, folding in well.
Bake at 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 1 3/4 to 2 hours.
