Oatmeal Gems - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 c. old-fashioned or quick oats, uncooked
    strawberry preserves
Preparation
    Beat butter/margarine and sugars until light and fluffy.
    Blend in eggs and vanilla.
    Add combined flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Mix well.
    Stir in oats.
    Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Indent center.
    Fill each with 1/4 teaspoon preserves.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    Let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
    Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
