Tomato Juice Cocktail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. ripe tomatoes
    2 medium onions, quartered
    2 large bay leaves
    7 whole cloves
    1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper or ground red pepper
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Wash
    tomatoes
    thoroughly.
    Remove
    blemishes and stem ends, cut into quarters.
    Combine tomatoes, onion, bay leaves, cloves, cayenne
    pepper
    and
    water
    in large Dutch oven. Cook over low heat about 1 hour.
