Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Grease and flour loaf pan.
    Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add milk and lemon extract; blend.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Add to creamed mixture. Beat until smooth.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Beat entire mixture well before pouring into well-greased loaf pan.
    Bake for 75 to 80 minutes.
    Makes 1 pound cake.
    Frost or sprinkle with powdered sugar or serve plain.
