Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 qt. apples, peeled and sliced
    5 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. cornstarch
    10 c. water
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Pack apples in jars.
    Combine remaining ingredients except water and lemon juice; stir in water and cook until thickened and bubbly.
    Add lemon juice; pour over apples and seal.
    Cold pack for 20 minutes.
