Ingredients

1/2 c. butter flavored Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla flavor (Adams)
20 large marshmallows, cut in half
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well after each egg.
Combine the next 4 ingredients; mix well. Add to the creamed mixture; beat well.
Add flavor; mix well. (The dough will be stiff.)
Chill dough for 30 minutes; shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on oiled cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Remove from oven and place 1/2 marshmallow on top of cookies; return to oven for 3 minutes.
Cool on wire rack; frost with Chocolate Icing.
Yields 3 1/2 dozen.
