Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dates, cut in small pieces
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. soda
2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Sift together the flour and salt.
Add boiling water and soda to dates.
Let stand.
Cream the sugar, egg and butter.
Add date mixture to this and blend well.
Add flour and salt.
Mix well. Add chopped nuts and vanilla.
Pour into greased and lined loaf pans (2).
Fill each half full.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 55 minutes.
