Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (16 oz.) can chocolate syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with chocolate syrup, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in vanilla.
Pour batter into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 28 minutes.
Cool.
