Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar (granulated)
    2 eggs
    1 c. mashed ripe banana
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. nut meats, chopped
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Beat eggs with a fork and add mashed banana.
    Add lemon juice.
    Blend with creamed mixture.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Mix quickly into banana mixture.
    Add nuts.
    Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan in a moderate 375\u00b0 oven about 1 1/4 hours.
    Makes 1 loaf.
