Hot Cream-Style Slaw - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 Tbsp. prepared mustard or 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. evaporated milk
3 Tbsp. vinegar
4 c. coarsely shredded cabbage
1 small onion, sliced thin
1/2 c. chopped green pepper (optional)
Preparation

In large saucepan, melt butter.
Remove from heat; stir in flour, sugar, salt, pepper and mustard, blending smoothly.
Slowly stir in evaporated milk, then vinegar.
Cook over medium heat, stirring all the time, until mixture thickens.
Add cabbage, onion and green pepper, stirring to mix well.
Continue cooking over medium heat until mixture is heated through, about 2 to 3 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
