Apple And Pork Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can cream of chicken
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3 c. cubed, cooked pork
    2 tart apples, peeled and chopped
    mashed potatoes (4 servings)
    1/4 c. milk
    dash of pepper
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 c. shredded American cheese
Preparation
    In saucepan, cook onion in shortening until tender.
    Stir in soup, sugar and cinnamon.
    Add pork and apples.
    Mix well.
    Spoon mixture into a 8 x 1 1/2-inch round baking dish.
    Prepare potatoes using 1/4 cup milk and a dash of pepper.
    Blend egg into potatoes. Spoon potatoes in 6 mounds atop pork mixture.
    Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
    Return to oven until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings.
