Tarheel Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)
3/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. French vanilla pudding mix
5 to 6 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 unbaked 9-inch bottom crust
1 unbaked top crust
1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Put
cream
cheese,
sugar
and
pudding
mix in 2 quart mixing
bowl.
Mix\tthoroughly
until smooth, set aside.
Place apples
in\tanother
bowl and pour freshly squeezed lemon juice over slices.
Mix
well
and
set aside to stand for a few minutes.
Mix
together 2 tablespoons flour and sugar and sprinkle evenly in
bottom
of
crust.
Arrange half the apple slices in pie crust.\tMeasure 1/3 cup sugar and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of it over apple slices.\tSpread\tover
the
sugar,
half
of
the cheese mixture.
Arrange
remaining slices over the mixture and sprinkle with the
remainder
of
the
1/3\tcup
sugar.
Spread evenly the rest of\tthe cheese mixture.
Put on top crust.\tDot with butter.
Bake 40 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cool and serve.
