Steam Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    4 slices bread
    butter
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put a cup of brown sugar into top of double boiler.
    (Make sure there is water in the bottom pot.)
    Butter 4 slices of bread on both sides and cut into cubes.
    Place on top of brown sugar. Beat 3 eggs and add 2 cups of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and mix well.
    Pour over bread.
    Do not stir.
    Cook until a knife comes out clean for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
