Kay'S Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lg. or 3 sm. bananas
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening or margarine
    2 lg. eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mash bananas.
    Add sugar and shortening and mix well, by hand or using a mixer. Add the eggs and mix well.
    Add the flour, baking soda, salt and nuts and mix well.
    Pour into a greased loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 1 hour.
    Test with a toothpick for a clean test.
    Remove from oven and cool on a rack for 10 minutes before removing the bread from the pan.
    Cool right side up and slice when cool.
