Chinese Pepper Steak With Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef chuck, cut into thin strips
    2 Tbsp. Crisco or drippings
    2 Tbsp. minced onion
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    3 c. boiled rice
    2 large peppers, cut into strips
    1/2 c. celery, sliced crosswise
    2 tsp. water
    1 tsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Melt Crisco or drippings.
    Add beef and brown slowly over a low flame.
    Add onion, green peppers, celery and 1/2 cup liquid. Season with salt and pepper.
    Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Thicken with cornstarch blended with water and soy sauce.
    Simmer 5 minutes.
    Serve hot with boiled rice.
    Serves 4.
