Fried Squirrel(Nikw-Abenaki) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 squirrels
6 Tbsp. fat
2 c. water
flour to dredge
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Cut squirrel into serving pieces and shake in paper bag containing flour and seasonings to dredge well.
Fry in skillet until brown.
Remove meat from skillet and pour off all grease except 2 tablespoons.
Add water and bring to boil.
Return squirrel to skillet; reduce heat to low.
Cover and cook for about 1 hour until meat falls off bone.
