Party Pink Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple
    24 large marshmallows
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry jello
    1 (12 oz.) carton cottage cheese
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
    1/4 c. maraschino cherries
    1/2 pt. whipped heavy cream
Preparation
    Drain juice from can of pineapple.
    Mix juice with 24 marshmallows.
    Place over low heat until marshmallows dissolve. Remove; add jello.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Cool slightly.
    Add cottage cheese, pineapple, chopped nuts and cherries.
    Fold in whipped cream.
    Pour into a 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Chill until firm.
