Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 stick oleo
    2 c. raw peanuts or pecans
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients and cook on medium heat until syrup turns caramel color (approximately 10 minutes).
    Remove from heat and add 1 1/2 teaspoons soda.
    Stir well and pour onto well buttered tinfoil and spread with back of spoon.
    Let cool and break into pieces.
