Gumdrop Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. applesauce
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 lb. small spice gumdrops
1/2 lb. raisins
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar slowly. Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
Cut gumdrops in small pieces.
Mix with raisins and nuts. Use a small portion of dry ingredients that you have mixed all together. Mix applesauce with water and add with the dry ingredients. Then mix real good.
Pour into loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 90 minutes.
