Sauerkraut With Lima Beans Or Peas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large can (2 lb.) sauerkraut
1 c. (approximately) water
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 lb. can lima beans or peas
2 Tbsp. flour
1 small clove garlic, crushed (optional)
Preparation

Wash sauerkraut well.
Place in a 2-quart pot and add enough water to just cover . Cook slowly 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Saute onion in oil until soft and light yellow. Sprinkle flour over the onions and brown very lightly.
Add some of the liquid from the cooked sauerkraut to onions; season.
Add garlic; stir constantly until sauce thickens.
Add lima beans or peas to sauerkraut.
Then add sauce to sauerkraut and stir to mix well.
Simmer about 30 minutes.
