All-Season Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 egg whites
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. skim milk
1 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. lite salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
6 c. fresh fruit, sliced (such as strawberries, peaches, kiwi, mango)
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. low-fat whipped topping
Preparation

Cut a piece of waxed paper to fit the bottom of a 9-inch square baking pan.
Lightly oil pan sides and paper.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
With a mixer, beat together egg whites, sugar, orange peel and vanilla until light and fluffy.
In a small saucepan, heat the milk and margarine until hot, then stir into the egg mixture.
In a bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
Add to the batter and stir to blend well.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
