Beef-Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef
    2 Tbsp. oil or butter
    7 c. water
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. instant beef bouillon granules
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. sliced celery
    2/3 c. quick cooking barley
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. snipped parsley
Preparation
    Brown meat in oil or butter.
    Cover with water and simmer for several hours until tender.
    Cool meat and chop.
