Apple Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sweet milk
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    sour apples, sliced
Preparation
    Mix flour and baking powder.
    Beat egg yolks with the sugar and salt.
    Heat the milk (do not boil).
    Add the milk slowly to the egg yolk mixture, then add flour and egg whites; stir all together and put in slices of apples.
    Drop batter and apples by spoonful into hot lard and fry to a light brown.
    Serve with maple syrup.
