Apple Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. apples, pared and diced
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 egg, well beaten
    3 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix apples and nuts in a large mixing bowl.
    Combine dry ingredients and add to apple-nut mixture.
    Combine beaten egg, vanilla and melted butter; pour over dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
    Batter will be very stiff.
    Spread in greased 9-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
    Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or hard sauce.
