Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
1 egg
3 c. Rice Krispies cereal
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped drained candied cherries
1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. coconut (for rolling)
Preparation

In 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Stir in sugar and dates; remove from heat.
Stir in egg.
Return to heat. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil for 4 to 6 minutes.
Boil, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
