Aunt Kat'S Squash And Matoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 stick butter or margarine
    1 onion, sliced
    squash, sliced
    2 to 3 tomatoes, sliced or chopped
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/4 c. water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Simmer squash, onions, tomatoes, butter or margarine and water until tender or done with lid to cover.
    Cut pan off.
    Put cheese over mixture and cover until melted very well.
