Ingredients

2 lb. dates
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. chopped or broken pecans or walnuts
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 well beaten eggs
Preparation

Cut dates in chunks.
Cut cherries in quarters.
Cut pineapple in thin slices and add to the nuts.
Mix well.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
Cream butter, add sugar gradually and eggs. Beat thoroughly.
Combine the sifted flour mixture with the butter, sugar and egg mixture. Mix well.
Add the fruit and nuts. Mix well (heat oven).
Drop batter from teaspoon on a cookie sheet.
Bake about 12 minutes at
350\u00b0 temperature.
Don't overbake.
Cookies are much nicer and chewy.
