Joe Bailey Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1/3 c. cocoa
    2 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar to which cocoa has been well mixed. Add in order:
    well beaten egg yolks, coffee, flour and buttermilk in which soda has been dissolved, vanilla and well-beaten egg whites.
    Bake in two 9-inch layers in moderate 350\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes, until done.
