Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. margarine
    1 c. uncooked oats
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
Preparation
    Spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.
    Pour into mixing bowl.
    Add sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Stir in well to blend.
    Cut in shortening until mixture is fine.
    Stir in oats.
    Add egg and milk, stirring just until ingredients are moistened.
    Fill paper lined muffin pans 2/3 full.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes.
    Serve warm.
    Makes 12.
