Beef Noodle Marzetti - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 (1 lb.) pkg. medium egg noodles
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    3/4 c. chopped green pepper
    3/4 c. chopped onions
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
    1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces, drained
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1 tsp. oregano leaves
    1/2 tsp. sugar (optional)
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Prepare noodles according to package directions.
    Drain. Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In large skillet, brown meat.
    Pour off fat. Add green peppers, onions and garlic.
    Cook and stir until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, except noodles and cheese.
    Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
    Stir in cooked noodles.
    Turn into greased 3-quart shallow baking dish (13 x 9-inch).
    Cover.
    Bake 20 minutes or until bubbly.
    Top with cheese.
    Bake 3 minutes longer.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
