Mardi Gras Beef Broil - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. London broil, 2-inch thick
    3/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1 onion, cut in chunks
    1/2 green pepper, cut in strips
    1/2 tsp. thyme, crushed
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    2 tsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Sprinkle meat with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
    Broil until cooked as desired, turning once.
    In skillet, cook onion, green pepper, herb and remaining garlic powder in oil until vegetables are tender-crisp.
    Drain tomatoes, reserving juice.
    Combine juice and cornstarch.
    Add to vegetables.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until thick.
    Add tomatoes, heat through.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Thinly slice meat; top with vegetables.
