Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
2 c. raisins
1 1/3 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Rub in butter until it resembles coarse corn meal.
Add raisins.
Combine buttermilk, egg and baking soda.
Stir buttermilk mixture into flour; mix until moistened.
Bake in greased 1-quart pan or casserole in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Use knife to form cross on top of bread before putting in oven.
