Onion Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 big sweet onion
    1/4 c. butter
    1 pkg. Jiffy corn muffin mix
    1 egg, beaten
    1/3 c. milk
    1 can creamed corn (16 oz.)
    2 drops Tabasco
    1 c. sour cream
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. dill weed
    1 c. grated sharp Cheddar
Preparation
    Slice onion in rings, saute in butter, set aside.
    Add together Jiffy mix, egg, 1/3 cup milk, creamed corn and Tabasco.
    Place this in greased baking dish (larger than 8-inches square, although I've used 8-inch and was happy.)
    Add to sauteed onion, the sour cream, salt, dill weed, 1/2 cup grated cheese.
    Spread over batter and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup grated cheese.
    In a preheated oven, bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
