Tostones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium green plantains
    4 cloves garlic
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Slice green plantains 3/4 to 1-inch thick.
    Heat 1-inch of oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
    Fry until light brown on both sides (2 minutes for each side) and drain on paper towels.
    Place plantain round between 2 pieces of waxed paper and flatten until 1/8-inch thick.
    Add garlic to oil and fry flattened rounds for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden.
    Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately.
    A Cuban treat.
