Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients well, then add butter, egg yolks and buttermilk until all is well mixed.
    Fold in egg whites last. Bake in loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife test comes out clean.
