Navy Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. navy beans
    2 1/2 c. diced cooked ham
    2 c. diced celery with leaves
    1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
    3/4 c. chopped green onions
    1 pod hot pepper
    1 c. peeled, chopped tomatoes
    2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Set aside tomatoes, salt and pepper.
    Cover rest of ingredients with water, 2 inches above beans.
    Add the remaining ingredients 15 minutes before beans are done.
