Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup margarine
    2 cups sugar
    4 eggs
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    1 tsp baking soda
    3 1/2 cups plain flour
    1 box chopped dates
    1 lb. chopped candy orange slices
    1 can angel flaked coconut
    2 cups chopped nuts
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar, add eggs one at a time, beating well.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Add flour alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
    Roll nuts, candy, and dates in a little extra flour.
    Add coconut to the floured mixture and roll all this to batter.
    Bake in greased and floured tube pan in 250\u00b0 oven for 2 1/2 hours.
    Pour topping over cake while it is still warm.
    Let set 8 to 10 hours before serving.
