Taffy Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 egg, beaten
    1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks (save juice)
    1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
    3 medium apples, cored and chopped (unpeeled)
    2 c. miniature marshmallows
    2 1/2 oz. nuts
Preparation
    In saucepan, mix sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, egg and pineapple juice.
    Cook over low heat until thick.
    Cool.
    Stir in Cool Whip.
    In large bowl, mix apples, pineapple, marshmallows and nuts.
    Toss with cooled dressing and chill 2 to 3 hours before serving.
