Ingredients

1 egg
2 Tbsp. sour milk *
1/8 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. lard
1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla)
1 1/2 c. plain flour
Preparation

Mix in order given.
One-half cup nuts are optional.
Roll in round balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Mash with bottom of sugared glass slightly.
Makes approximately 30 cookies, depending on size.
Bake at 325\u00b0 until done (do not brown), 15 to 20 minutes or less.
Frost when cool with powdered sugar icing.
