Czechoslovakian Jam Bars(Makes 2 Dozen) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    2 egg yolks
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. strawberry jam
Preparation
    Set oven at 350\u00b0 (moderate).
    Line 8-inch square pan with waxed paper.
    Cream margarine and sugar thoroughly.
    Add egg yolks and beat well, then add flour slowly.
    Fold in nuts.
    Spoon half of batter into 8-inch square cake pan, spreading evenly to corners. Top with strawberry jam, stopping about 1 inch from edge of batter on all sides.
    Cover with remaining cookie dough.
    If dough sticks to spoon while spreading, dip spoon in cold water.
    Bake 1 hour or until light brown.
    Cool.
    Cut in 1 x 3-inch bars.
